THFTH VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
SIGN PLACEMENT: Place signs in designated spots a few days prior to our distribution day, the 4th Monday of each month. It might require working on unlevel or hard ground. Collect signs following the event. Team Leader: LuRae Ahrendt.
SET-UP/TAKE DOWN: We set up on Sunday, day prior to our distribution, following church service. Moving/lifting tables and chairs. Wiping table tops and placing needed items on tables i.e., hand sanitizer, tissue, pens, etc. If Trinity activities prevent us from setting up on Sunday, we will meet at 8:00 on distribution Monday to set up. Return all tables, chairs, and supplies at the end of the day (1:00 PM). Team Leader: Barbara Ress
GREETER: Welcome clients at the front entrance of the church and direct guests inside to the sign-in area. Assit anyone with mobility problems. Greeters work in pairs. In cold weather, you may stand inside and may sit when no clients. Team Leader: Barbara Ress
CLIENT SIGN-IN: Assist clients in completing the sign-in sheet. Direct to the registration table or to the waiting area if the registration volunteer is unavailable. Requires standing most of the day. Team Leader: Barbara Ress
CLIENT REGISTRATION: A team of volunteers sit and complete application forms with clients and provide resource materials. Will direct clients to a waiting counselor or to the waiting area if no counselor is available. A team leader is present to assist. Team Leader: Kay Bechtel
DONATED FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Assist clients in choosing and bagging items donated by Trinity members and friends, then help carry them to the client's car. Clients will be assisted by other volunteers in selecting produce and pet food before leaving. Team Leader: Susie Butcher
TRUCK AREA LOADER: THFTH brings a truck loaded with boxes of food for distribution to clients. One volunteer will direct clients to the front entrance. Others will assist clients as they present a food ticket in exchange for a 20-25 lb. box of food to be placed in cars. In addition, we provide a copy of the “Pickens Progress”, a birthday box ( if a B is in the top right corner of the Food Ticket), and a packet of information from Trinity Church. Occasionally special items will be offered to clients that you will take to their cars. This is an outside volunteer position in the parking lot. Team Leader: Tom Ress
FOOD PREPARATION: Team Leaders will decide the menu. Food will be ready to serve at 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch is provided for both THFTH and Trinity volunteers. Volunteers will help set up food, monitor throughout mealtime, and then clean up. Team Leaders: Don and Kris Stewart
