Trinity Life Groups
What is a Life Group?
- A Life Group at Trinity is a small community of people who gather routinely for the primary purpose of developing caring and supportive relationships.
- Life Group members have the privilege of walking through the Christian life together while praying for and encouraging one another according to the Scripture.
- Trinity attempts to organize people in Life Groups who live in a similar locale.
- Life Group values include:
- Prayer, Care, Support, Relationship, Confidentiality, Transparency
Why do we have Life Groups?
- Scripture encourages us to meet together in a manner where we encourage one another and stir up one another to love and good works. (Heb 10:24-25)
- In Acts we see the early Christians meeting together in homes, sharing with and caring for one another.
- Life Groups allow more close and personal connections between individuals than large group gatherings provide.
- These groups give us an opportunity to practice the “one anothers” of scripture:
- Rejoice with one another; Pray for one another; Mourn with one another; Serve one another; Encourage one another, etc.
- We all need caring and supportive relationships, so Trinity encourages anyone/everyone to participate in a Life Group.
Is a Life Group the same thing as a Bible Study?
- They are different but complementary. The primary focus of a Life Group is relational, living out our faith in the context of relationships.
- Discussing the bible may be a part of a Life Group, but it comes alongside the emphasis of building relationships.
- Life Groups aim to help people know each other better and take time to develop positive, caring relationships.
- Trinity provides many outlets for Bible Study including Adult Bible Fellowship, Ladies groups, Men’s groups, etc.
How do I get involved in a Trinity Life Group?
- You can become part of a Life Group in a variety of ways.
- Fill out a guest card on Sundays and drop it in the box in the foyer.
- Email LifeGroups@TrinityChurchMH.org or contact the church office to express interest in Life Groups.
- Someone will follow up with you to discuss your interest in Life Groups.
- Or talk to someone you already know who is in a Life Group to see if joining their group makes sense for you.
- Please understand there may be a short wait period before space is available in a nearby Life Group.
How often do Life Groups meet?
- Some groups meet once a week, others twice monthly. It is up to the individual groups to establish a meeting schedule for their group. And they select which day and time is best to meet the needs of that group.
What else should I know about Life Groups?
- Life Groups at Trinity are designed to be relational. We can learn how to walk out our faith in a trusted group of believers.
- We promote flexibility that allows the groups to achieve the desired goals of a Life Group.
- We are always looking to foster more Life Group leaders who can help Trinity accommodate larger numbers of people in this important ministry area.
